Kano in court over assault
UK artist Kano has appeared in court over an alleged assault at the private members club Shoreditch House.
Kano, real name Kane Robinson, one of the originators of the UK Grime genre with fellow Bow artists Wiley and Dizzy Rascal, who then went on to find fame with solo rap efforts and acting roles, and his friend Christopher Brown appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court over an alleged attack on Henry Kinman and Suzzan Atala at Shoreditch House, east London on December 16 last year
Both defendants plead not guilty and were released on bail to appear at a plea and trial preparation hearing at Wood Green Crown Court on February 20. Robinson is charged with two counts of ABH and one of affray. Brown is charged with one count of ABH.
Speaking in court the prosecutor stated:
"The incident occurred on December 16 of last year in the early hours of the morning at Shoreditch House, a private members club. The defendants had gone with a group, and they were sat in a booth where the victims in this case were sitting. An argument then broke out as to whether the couple should be in the booth, Ms Atala and Mr Kinman. Mr Robinson threw the first punch at Mr Kinman and then repeatedly punched him."
